Quarterhorse - Large - Senior - Male - Horse - Cutter Late Bar
Cutter Late Bar (Bear) came to Spirit of Hope Farm in January of 2008. His owner was experience financially difficulty and could no longer afford to feed him. At the time, this then-23-year-old registered Quarter Horse was an intact stallion but in spite of his advanced age and in keeping with our no-breeding philosophy, we had him gelded in April of 2008. Update: Bear was humanely euthanized on October 8. He had developed spinal arthritis. While Bear never did get adopted, he did get to spend the rest of his life here, with good care, love and attention. Bear had been shown in the Parade of Hope at the Maine Horse Rescue Alumni Benefit Horse Show for the past two years and was our ambassador at the Bangor State Fair this year, a duty that he had performed admirably. Through these events, Bear helped us demonstrate the potential of older horses, as well as to help us educate folks that a stallion is never to old to geld! Bear will be missed by everyone here at Spirit of Hope Farm.
