Description

Foxhound - Medium - Young - Male - Dog - Tex URGENT FOSTR N

12-20-09 Another urgent foster need- Tex has been living in ahome and doing quite well but now his foster mom has hurt her back and can no longer care for him- we cant send him back to a shelter. We are desperate for someone to step up and welcome him into their home. Tex was adopted as a young puppy down south and then chained outside all day and when he became older they returned him to the kill shelter. Well now he is about a year and still looking for someone to love him and a place to call home- he has waited so long. 11-26-09 Tex is such a great dog we can't believe someone hasn't adopted him already- he is currently enrolled in obedience class and is the star of the class- he is so eager to please and has so much love to give! He is living with another dog and really enjoys that but plays at daycare very well with all other dogs. He knows sit and stay and down and doing well with learning to walk on leash without pulling. He really has fun on hikes and would be a great companion for an active family! 10-10-09 Tex has really settled down into his foster home- he loves his foster sister and they play all day!! He is such a happy go lucy guy and fine with children and other dogs and cats! He almost seems to smile. He is very eager to please and his favorite reward is affection from his people. He'd be a great agility or flyball guy! 9-15-09 Tex is doing great - his foster home has a small female dog and can keep his exercise needs met. A runner, or a family with a fenced yard, would be ideal for him. 9/1/09: From Tex's Foster Mom: First I want to say Tex is an absolute doll... definitely wants to learn some manners and he is so eager to please! His collar gave way on our walk one night and he was a free boy but I called for him and he came right back. Tex loves to jump but he is learning to stay off. He got clawed by my cat within 5 minutes of being in the house and is now well behaved around the cat. We have been taking him on long walks, and he's still super energetic so will need a home where he can get lots of exercise. Tex loves people and he loves being part of a home. Tex is a very energetic Beagle/Foxhound mix who is eight months old. He was adopted from Animal Control at two months of age. Sadly, he was returned six months later. The family left him alone outdoors and decided they did not have time for a dog. Tex really will do well with regular exercise. He does jump, but is learning to stop. Tex is such a happy, eager-to-please dog. He enjoys going for walks and loves the dog park, where he bounds about and is learning to play fetch. He is great with people of all ages. Tex wants to play with other dogs, but can be a bit overenthusiastic at first. He would do best in a home without cats because he tries to chase them. Tex is a bright dog who should be easy to train. He will need structure and discipline and attention and should blossom into a devoted, loyal and fun family dog. He is so endearing and has such potential!
