10-26-09 Josie is here and just as sweet as can be. She is in foster care with other dogs and doing great. She is a snuggle bunny and a very calm girl. Is your family the one for her? >p> 8-15-09 Poor Sweet Josie! She finally had gotten out of the shelter into a foster home but it was outdoors in the southern heat. THEN she turned up heartworm positive and had to go through the treatment. She did very well and is now ready to travel. Please consider giving this senior gal (est. 7-8 yrs old by the vet) a loving home with a family. Josie has turned out to be a couch potato. She loves to go for walks and then curl up in her chair. She's ok with the other dogs but she can take them or leave them. She would be great for an older person as she is so easy and laid back. 3-5-09 Josie is living in foster care in the south with lots of other dogs, and she is doing well. She is a sweet grown-up dog who is not going to chew your posessions or keep you up at night. She deserves to live the rest of her life in a family, not behind bars. Josie requires a feline-free home. 7/23/08: Josie and her buddy, Oreo, have been surrendered by their owner. Both have been at the shelter for several weeks now. Josie is about 8 years old and super sweet. At this time, Josie is heartworm negative (YEAH!!!), however Oreo was not so lucky. Josie has been an indoor dog, however she will need a fenced in yard to romp and play in. Josie does NOT do well with cats, so a home without cats is a must. Her previous owner reports that she is very loving and has grown up with children. Josie and Oreo need foster homes immediately due to space constraints at the shelter. Please hurry! All our dogs are at partner shelters in the South unless marked "In New England" or "In Maine".
